Fodder Development
Farmers in Bundelkhand continue to face chronic shortages of green fodder due to poor irrigation facilities and rainfall. Muktaa took up the task to educate farmers in modern fodder production and conservation technologies in every villages of Sagar & Chhatarpur region. As part of this commitment following activities were undertaken:
- Farmers’ training programme on fodder development activities.
- Distribution of seeds of improved varieties of multi-cut Sorghum & Berseem.
- Introduction of a new fodder crop – Napier grass and Makkhan grass, for the first time in Bundelkhand region.
- Muktaa representative makes periodic fodder demonstrations to teach farmers about fodder conservation techniques.
- Continual hand-holding of farmers to ensure successful adoption.
